About The Author

Alison Wyndham, founder of The Wyndham Centres, began her career as a physiotherapist in 1971 when she trained at the Middlesex Hospital in London. She opened her first practice in 1979.

Alison had become interested in alternative therapies to complement traditional treatments and in 1980 qualified in acupuncture at the Centre for the Study of Complementary Medicine. Her interest in complementary medicine grew, and she went on to qualify in clinical ecology and Vega Testing to detect food sensitivities and general health based on biological energies.

1989 saw Alison open her second practice in London EC1, which then moved to Hatton Garden in 1997. This practice put physiotherapy and multi disciplined complementary therapies in a sympathetically designed and attractive environment at High Street level.

Alison has 25 years experience in food sensitivities, and how they can effect the body, and has worked with hundreds of people suffering ‘Irritable Bowel’ problems. So often they feel that they have to ‘learn to live with it’ and this has prompted Alison to write a simple self help booklet to give people an idea of what they can do to ‘help themselves’.
